Name that interactive story

A couple of years ago (maybe more) I played/read a story told in several episodes and in a variety of media.

The parts I remember are a room you had to explore to examine items (I think this was an image you clicked around) and the final part was a first person flash game, where you walk around a spooky house. There was also an episode where you read an old school excercise book, I think. The most helpful detail is probably the multiple references to the old game Sentinel.

It wasn't Twine or inform based, I think the author constructed it all from Flash and HTML.

What is it called?

Could it be Homestuck? (Spoilers very early on in the Wikipedia article.) The game begins with you, the main character, a young boy, receiving a video game in the mail. You gather items around your house and talk with a school friend using a chat program. More adventures follow.

Response by poster: No, I like Homestuck, but it's not that. It's something much shorter. (Isn't everything?)
