Short Curtains for Short People

Does anyone make reasonably-priced short curtains (around 4' long) that suit a modern bedroom?
I'm back again with another question about decorating my slightly odd basement bedroom. The windows are small, about 3' x 3', so most curtains are too long for them. The ceilings are also low, so even when I hang curtains all the way up at the ceiling, they still drag on the floor.
I really want something that's between 36"-48" in length, and so far all I've been able to find are kitchen curtains (mostly "tiered" window treatments like this one) that are purely decorative and not functional, and very old-fashioned-looking lace curtains.
My colors are white, black, red, and beige/gold.
Yes, I have thought of the idea of hemming longer curtains: right now I have a pair of red curtains from Target with a large, modern floral print which I like a lot, and I'll get them hemmed if that's what it comes to. I want to check first if there's an option that will work out of the box.

Best answer: When you search, use the phrase "cafe curtains"

Best answer: If you search etsy for handmade curtains, many sellers will do custom orders.
There's also hem tape. Or heck, I've got a sewing machine... Bring 'em over to my place and we'll sort it.

If your dry cleaner does alterations (or if you have a tailor), they should be able to hem your curtains for a pretty reasonable fee, should you not want to mess with it yourself.

If you buy roller blinds, you can easily cut them to length and there is no hemming required as the metal bar at the bottom just slides on and off. I also cut mine for width which requires a hack saw to trim down the rods.

Response by poster: MeFites with sewing machines are a wonderful resource to have in your life. And next month I'm taking a sewing class so from now on I can pay it forward!
