Cracked iPad glass - how to keep cracks from spreading?

I just knocked my iPad off the counter where it hit something on the floor that cracked the glass. What's the best way to keep the cracking from getting worse? Besides, of course, not dropping it again.
Here Is a pic of the damage. The cracks don't extend into the viewable portion of the screen.
Most of the cracking is below the surface and the edges are mostly still intact, except for the center focal point of the cracking, where I can feel the cracks on the surface and there may be very small loose bits of glass. The iPad seems to be otherwise intact and it's generally running fine. What's the best way to keep the cracking from extending? Tape along the edge? Krazy Glue or clear epoxy where the cracks hit the surface?
It doesn't seem like it's worth doing a full replacement of the glass yet if I can avoid it and the iPad itself is well within its lifespan.

Best answer: Gorilla Glass is pretty tough and is designed to not let cracks spread, so that won't likely be a huge problem.
Your problem is going to be keeping all the already cracked parts from scrabbling off in your hands when you hold it.
I would be inclined to lightly brush off the little chunky pieces and then fill it in with Sugru. (There should be cracked screen Sugru tutorials online.) Sugru has some give so that corner won't be a weak point for shattering if/when you drop it again.

Best answer: I would just tape over it with clear packing tape in an L shape.

Best answer: I cracked the corner of mine. I pulled off the small splinters of glass and then bought a cover that had a frame around the front edge. Like this.

Response by poster: Ah, crap. The cracks were apparently waiting to pounce and they've extended across the main part of the glass.
