Can I get these movies from iTunes to a Kindle Fire?

I bought some bluray+DVD+download discs of some movies for my kids. When we're traveling, it's nice for them to be able to watch on their tablet - a Kindle Fire - but when I try to use the download code that came with the DVDs, it only gives the option to download to iTunes. Is there a way to get these onto a Kindle Fire?

A little more detail, if it helps.

The one I'm looking at right now is Despicable Me. It gives me a URL - unversaldigitalcopy.com/despicableme and a code to enter when I get there. When I type that code in, I get the options to add the movie to one a few streaming services (but not Amazon) and to download it to iTunes. But I'm not sure how to (or if it's possible to) get this from iTunes to the Kindle Fire.

I want it downloaded to the tablet so they can watch it when we are on the go and not near wifi.

(Also it is just so damn frustrating that you want to try to own a digital copy of something and you are restricted by these giant company's trying to force you into one platform or another /rant)

Universal uses Pocketblu, which is an app for iOS and android devices, including Kindle Fire. You should be able to enter the code in the app and it will download the movie.

From Universal's site:

pocket BLU

Download the app from your tablet or smartphone’s app store or from pocketblu.com.

Launch the pocket BLU app.

In the application, select Digital Copy under the title you wish to redeem

Click the Redeem button and type in the redemption code from your insert. The Digital Copy will automatically start downloading.

Redeeming your Digital Copy via pocket BLU does not prevent you from redeeming from the web site or from a Digital Copy disc.

The other answer is to go "unofficial". You buy AnyDVDHD and rip the BD, then use something like Handbrake to convert it into an MKV file, which you crossload onto your Kindle to play there.

Best answer: If you're going that route you might as well just rip the DVD and not pay to rip the Blu; it'll look fine on your kindle.

Very odd. I got Pocket BLU onto my Fire and entered the code to redeem the movie and it gave me a list of about 40 titles to choose from, but not Despicable Me. Maybe this is a dead end. I don't see any other options in the Pocket BLU app.

Best answer: I have used Chocolate Pickle's suggestion to put movies on my Kindle Fire before. It takes a bit of work, but most of the work is actually just waiting for the computer to do its thing.

Step 1: Rip disc
Step 2: Convert file
Step 3: Plug in Kindle to computer via USB and drag-'n-drop the converted file into the Videos folder on the Kindle

Response by poster: Thanks all. Pocket BLU seemed like a good idea, but didn't work. I did this: How to Rip a DVD to Your Computer
