TV movie about Trolls

Help me figure out this 70s made-for-TV movie about trolls.

I remember seeing this movie on TV in the 70s. There was a large white house inherited by a family with two mischevious trolls. The pranks that the trolls pulled were blamed on the kids (like stringing wire across a pathway to trip the father). The kids see the trolls and try to explain to the parents that they are causing the problems. In the end, the action and chaos caused by the trolls is ratched up, including dragging the parents down the stairs by their hair.

Does this ring any bells for anyone?

Best answer: No mention of kids but the plot and era of this TV movie sound just like what you're after.

I remember "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" and there were no kids in it. Creepy movie, though.

I seem to remember Ghoulies being set in a large white house, but there were many trolls and it's a decade out. I guess you've ruled out Critters, Gremlins, Troll.
