Minecraft in a Box

I'm buying my 6 year old nephew the PC version of Minecraft for Christmas. What can I wrap up in a box that will convey this to a 6-year-old in a succinct and exciting way?

I would like it to be better than just printing out "here is your username" on a piece of paper. (Also, I don't know anything about Minecraft or how to get it, but I'm assuming you just download it, right? I'll figure the rest out later.)

I've thought of printing out one of the little square head things and making a little cube, maybe? (See above caveat.) I'm not opposed to buying some little trinket if you know of an item I can either get in my mid-sized American city or via Amazon by the end of the week.

There are numerous Minecraft toys/baubles/ect out there. Here's some toys on Amazon. I always see a ton of Minecrasft merch in my local Barnes & Noble if you have one in your area. The toy aisle at Target usually has some Minecraft stuff, as well.

I bought my Cousin's son a Lego Minecraft kit. He claims to have loved it.

Best answer: Have a look online for a chest pattern that you could make into a box. In the box, put some sticks, an apple and a plastic pickaxe. For added delight, put the chest in the middle of his room, surrounded by 4 dollar store torches.

(This is how the game starts, with the player appearing in the world).

You might stick a Minecraft Construction Book in there. I work the school library book fair and the kids go crazy over those books. Not sure how advanced of a reader your nephew is, but it's $5 at Amazon.

I made this for a young relative using plain paper and colouring pens stuck onto a cardboard box.

Heh, some of the Minecraft merchandise is more expensive than the game itself. You might consider a shirt though as a conversation starter for you nephew and their friends who also play Minecraft online.

"I'm assuming you just download it, right?" Yeah, it's a painless process.

Add a copy of this. The other three books in the series are just basic stuff, but redstone gets complicated quickly.

Best answer: Print out these Minecraft Cubeecraft figures on higher quality paper. Make a couple and throw them into a box with the code as a gift. Maybe the Steve figure could be holding the game code.

I've actually used those photo printing kiosks and printed one out on 4x5 glossy paper. Looks great but gets pricey quickly.

Minecraft Torch!

I'm expecting my 6 year old nephew to s*** a square brick.
