New magazine issue notifications

I'd like a service that notifies me when a new issue of a magazine of choice comes out. Is there such a service that explicitly provides such a service or an existing solution that can be configured to provide such a service? Ideally, this wouldn't mean subscribing to the magazine, just merely a notification that a new issue from the magazine is available.

Subscribing to the email list for a publication will often serve this purpose.

If you're just talking about one particular magazine, and not looking for a solution that would help you keep track of any magazine, it might be worth checking to see if that magazine's website has an RSS feed that correlates with new issues being released. If so, there are a lot of solutions for accessing RSS feeds. (I've been using the "Feeder" Chrome plugin after the one I was using previously was bought out and started incorporated adware.) Or I think something like Yahoo Pipes could be set up to send you an email whenever a new entry pops up on the feed?

Do you mean on newsstands? I think you could use a magazine app like Zinio to get notified about new digital issues for a list of magazines you're interested in, and I'm assuming that would correspond with physical issues...
