Physically healthy couple in their early 80's with Alzheimer's and dementia want to re-locate back to Chicago. We need to try to find a good facility in the Chicago area that we can afford. More details inside.
They are currently living out of state by a daughter and are paying $7,000. mo for a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apt in an assisted living center. They hate it and very much want to come back to Chicago and, frankly, they have gotten much worse up there - fighting with each other, etc..
We are thinking their condition might improve somewhat as they are obsessed with coming back here - if we do bring them back even if it is more costly.
She has Alzheimer's and he has vascular dementia - moderate++ to advanced level for both. Thanks. I just can't find the specific cost information we need online. Thank you.

Beware that if they are advanced enough to not be aware they have moved back to Chicago, one or both of them might still be obsessed with returning to Chicago even if that's where they are. It's also possible that they think of Chicago as a place they could ive without being in a car facility. If that's the main reason for the move, you might want to evaluate that first.
In addition to the quality of the care facility, you'll want to consider how often you family members can visit. This can make a big difference in their experience at the care facility.
