Help name our firecracker

We are adding to our brood. Our current dog is a calm sweetheart and a real gentleman. We love him. The new pup we've only spent a short amount of time with, but he seems confident and not afraid to speak his mind. He has more fire. We're leaning towards British old man names, but we need some outsider suggestions.

Our new little guy is 6 mos old and about 20lbs, so we don't expect him to get a whole lot bigger. We have no idea on breed makeup and more importantly, no idea what to name him. Our other dog seen in the background of second pic is named Finlay (Fin, Fi, Fife, or whumpus for short).

Some names we're tossing around:

Franklin
Ned
Lyall
Angus

What say ye hive?

I love how in the first picture he's totally about to pounce on Finley. Herman. Harrison. And his nickname is clearly Doofus.

Nigel?

Years ago I met a basset hound at the dog park named Lord Byron which still tickles me to this day.

Jack. Because something about the shape of his head reminds me of an Egyptian Pharaoh Hound-- or a jackal. So... Jack.

Wow, that is about the muttiest dog that ever did mutt. And I mean that in a good way. I think a solid, working-class name would suit him best--my suggestion is Mick.

We just named our new dog Wilfred.
This could also, of course, fit the "British old man" paradigm (like this guy).

The other day, someone on reddit posted a picture of a rose hair tarantula wearing a party hat and a wizard hat (real spider, click at your peril). That may or may not be your thing, but the spider's name is Magnus, and that's a pretty great name.
