co2 adapter for Cuisinart carbonator

Anyone have experience with co2doctor.com products?
I have obtained a Cuisinart sparkling beverage maker, and have discovered that, at least where I live, there's really no way to exchange the (tiny, 3 oz) co2 cylinders, so the only official option is purchasing them for $20 ($20!!) which means it's way more expensive than just buying soda water. co2doctor.com sells an adapter kit specifically for Cuisinart models that allows one to use a normal non-siphon co2 tank instead. Any pitfalls I'm not thinking of?
