Obscure Blue Barrel Boy - story at 11

I'm trying to locate a movie I saw when I was a wee lad. It involved an unborn child (I believe) coming to Earth (I believe) in a blue barrel (I'm positive) and being raised by human parents. I thought it was D.A.R.Y.L., but I was wrong. Any thoughts?

We watched it all the time in summer camp, and I totally need to see it since I watched Follow that Bird, Flight of the Navigator, Pee-Wee's Big Adventure and Short Circuit. What a great camp...

Best answer: Sounds like the Wonderworks production of Konrad (originally a book), to me.

I remember watching D.A.R.Y.L. as a kid too!

Definitely not D.A.R.Y.L.

I recall (and was actually going to post an AskMe about) a movie where an older woman received in the mail a barrel (possibly it was blue) with a young (perhaps seven years old) boy inside. She had to pour some sort of liquid or powder (from a pouch) into the barrel to "revive" him. She complains to some kind of authority (the shipping company?) that she ordered shampoo, or something, not a little boy.

(Looking at redfoxtail's reply, actually, I'm almost positive that I'm thinking of Konrad. Hooray!)

neckro23, you're definitely thinking of Konrad. And the barrel in Konrad was blue, so I'm betting hoborg is too. (Yeah, watched a LOT of Wonderworks growing up.)

And Follow That Bird is GREAT!

I'm with Rafter on this one. Are you sure it wasn't Superman?

Hard to confuse a crystalline "star" ship with a blue barrel.
