Working in independent medical review

What do you know about working in independent medical review?
I am interviewing for an entry-level position at an independent medical review company. From what I know, this position telecommutes and does not require prior bio/medical knowledge. It seems that I would get assigned cases and turn them in online. I know briefly what the job responsibilities are, but the industry and how it works is still unclear to me.
If you work in/ have worked with independent medical review companies, could you tell me in layman terms how it works and exactly what I would be doing with the cases?
