How do you change iTunes account name?

I received a class action notice at my home re: an iTunes settlement. It had my maiden name on it. This was a couple of years after I changed the name on my account (maiden to married name). It was about six months after I changed the billing address, so iTunes clearly updated my billing address but not my name. How do I change this? Correct name is showing up in iTunes, but again, it doesn't appear to have been updated in whatever the "real" database is. Sounds like a silly question but I'd really like to have all areas reflect my married name.

It sounds like you should contact the attorneys or the court managing the class action settlement. The old name is in their records, not Apple's.

Perhaps they were using the account name in force at the time the activities subject to the class action took place as that is who any agreement would have been with? Apple's telephone support is (in my experience) excellent, discuss it with them.

I have no idea one way or the other regarding the class action/lawyer part of this or what to do in that regard, but have you tried changing your name through https://appleid.apple.com/? What does it show in there? I don't know how it populates outward from one site or the other, but that site seems to be the "real" way. Maybe look at that?

The World Famous and alms have it. Also, when you submit your paperwork for your claim through the firm handling the lawsuit and/or eventual settlement, you should be able to update your name and address information and/or provide supporting documentation of your name change if necessary; it shouldn't be a big deal. Some of the paperwork I submitted for a claim as part of a recent class-action lawsuit settlement included my maiden name, since that's what was on the receipt from the shop where I received services that were being reimbursed. It wasn't a problem. Also, even though I was initially mailed preprinted paperwork that included my maiden name, based on the firm's initial list of people potentially in the settlement class, I was able to download paperwork from the settlement website that included blank spaces for me to input my current name and address information instead.
