Tell me the title of this song!

Dude singing softly... "You're my favorite" (this line is repeated multiple times throughout the song)..."I can't explain it"... Sorry. That's all I got. I tried a Google search but I keep getting referred to some country singer (Jason Jones) with a song by the same title. BTW, what's a good Android app for identifying songs?

I can't help you with the song, but if you've got an Android phone with Google Now, it's great at identifying songs. Just click the mic button like you're going to speak, it'll pick up that there's music and a musical note button will appear. Otherwise Shazam works great, too.

Shazam is the best app. Also, would help if you describe the genre of the song and how recent it is.

No idea on the song either but Soundhound has a nice feature where you can sing/hum the song and it attempts to provide a match (in addition to the regular ability to match when the music is actually playing)

Possibly "You're My Favorite Waste of Time?"

Just a guess ... could it be Boston band The Gravel Pit's "Favorite"? [reviewed at PopMatters: “Favorite”, for example, is the essence of a guitar-pop single, with its instantly memorable chorus (“You’re my favorite, favorite”)]

You can hear it on their pledgemusic site ... just go over to the little player thingie on the lefthand side. Alternately, there are one or two live recordings on YouTube...

I've had much better luck with sound hound on android than I have with shazaam especially with lesser known/indie/international bands.

"Blandest" by Nirvana has some of the characteristics you describe.
