Standalone calendar app for iPhone

I'm looking for a free calendar app that will work without being synced to either my iPhone calendar or my google calendar.
I've searched a bunch of previous questions and google, and am for some reason am really struggling with this! I just want to be able to add standalone events, and have the option to be reminded of this. I use the iPhone calendar already for work, and google for projects, so want to separate out social events into another calendar.
Thanks!

Probably a dumb question, but did you know you can have more than one calendar with google?

Right, but you can have different apps using different google calendars.

Response by poster: *smacks head* that might be the answer!!!!! thanks empath!
although with most of the free apps I've tried, to add an event within the app itself rather than in google, you have to pay?
I will stop threadsitting now, sorry mods.

One option would be Tempo. It supports multiple google/Facebook/whatever calendars and you can add events from within the app. It probably has more features than you need (mining data from your e-mail) but there's no need to use them if you don't want to.
