Modern furniture in San Diego

Are there any worthwhile modern-ish furniture spots in San Diego? I'm a fan of HD Buttercup's stuff up in LA but would like something local.

The gold standard is Design Within Reach, which has a store downtown in the Gaslamp. Absurdly expensive, but quite a bit of "legacy" stuff, like Eames designs.

Hold It has a bunch of modernist furniture that's by contemporary designers, and is located just north of the Mission Valley Center mall (across the street to the north from the Macy's Home store) in the same center as the trolley stop, Men's Wearhouse, Staples, and Sammy's Woodfired Pizza. Expensive, but not as astronomical as DWR.

There's a modern resale store on Park Boulevard a bit south of University called Mid Century. I haven't been in it, but I know it's there. There's a couple other recommendations for places on that Yelp page.

I'm afraid the Design Within Reach San Diego location has been closed for some years (Yelp).

We got our couch at Metro Decor. The couches are custom-made and relatively affordable. The "Oliver" model seems to be kind of "the couch" among my demographic because it hits that sweet spot for price and style.

You might also want to check out Mixture on Kettner Blvd. It's way pricey, but the pieces are nice and there are some other places right in that area that might be interesting to you as well.

Response by poster: Thanks everyone. For the record, there's also a Ligne Roset up in La Jolla.
