I'm looking for stories of famous men (contemporary preferred, but historical ok) who discuss being nervous when approaching or dealing with women. Please cite sources and I will look them up.

Best answer: Dante Aligerhi was hilarious. His 'Vita Nuova' is his love letter to Beatrice, and he literally fainted when she waved at him.

Best answer: The very first thing that sprang to mind was Neil Gaiman's How to Talk to Girls at Parties. It is clearly fiction, however it is also written in the first person and when the narrator is asked his name, he says "Enn" (ie N) so while this clearly isn't something that happened, I think it's fair to say there are autobiographical elements to it. Plus, it's a great story.

Best answer: Woody Allen's Annie Hall has been described as a Nervous Romance.
