Which inversion table will help my back pain?

I'm convinced from friends' reports and reviews that I would benefit from an inversion table. Which should I get?
I'm looking at the top few on Amazon and if I go by the reviews alone, the Body Max IT6000 or Body Champ IT8070 both sound good.
My main concerns are space and weight. They both weigh about 50 pounds, but if there's a lighter one that will do the job as well/be sturdy enough to hold an average sized person, I'd love to know about it. The smaller it folds, the better as I don't have enough space to keep it open all the time.
I'm also slightly nervous as it seems all of them have a couple reviews that mention someone getting trapped and unable to get out, and people complain a bit about ankle discomfort. These are not enough to dissuade me from getting a table.

I would try to borrow or hire one. I try to do this for any large consumer items that I suspect will be at all the car boot fairs or yard sales in 2 years time. If I can't do that I buy second hand to minimise loss in the event that the item turns out to be white elephant.

You might want to consult a doctor or even a chiro. I have always lusted for an inversion setup -- it just SEEMS like it would feel so good -- but when I told my chiro about my dream he very emphatically thumbs-downed it for my particular back issues.

My bro-in-law has a litany of back problems - he swears by the Ironman Gravity 1000 inversion table, bought at Walmart for like $200. Weighs 46 lbs. (Sorry, link is for Walmart Canada...)
