Where can I find this skirt?

I'm looking for a basic black skirt to wear with black leggings.

Specifically:

- I want it to be mid-thigh length (or possibly a little shorter).
- I want it to match the leggings in terms of material / feel. The leggings I wear are soft and not shiny. They are maybe jersey / cotton with a little bit of spandex?
- I do not want it to have any logos or flourishes that say "This skirt is for athletic pursuits ONLY". If it has some lace or embroidery somewhere that would be ok, but I'm mostly looking for a plain skirt.
- I want it to be a basic A-line. If it veers a little bit towards pencil, that's ok, but I don't want it to veer towards a tutu the way some circle skirts are currently doing.
- I'm a 12 or 14, so if this magical skirt ends up coming from the Juniors section, the brand has to have an XL. (I think. L might be ok.)

This skirt from J. Jill is almost exactly what I want. The main problem is it's too long.

I shop for most of my skirts at kholes and have tons of luck. I am about your size.

Can you buy that skirt and take it to a tailor to have it shortened?

Hanes.com sells skirts in addition to leggings (and underwear and socks). Most of the fabric they use is the type you describe.

Hue (tights and leggings brand) also usually has skirts in the same fabric, but I'm not seeing much on their website now... maybe because they're seasonal? Weird.

Can you wear an XL from American Apparel? Though not explicitly the same fabric this pencil skirt has a very similar soft look and feel to their Cotton Spandex Jersey leggings. I own and like both.

If that skirt is too long and/or too pencily, perhaps I could interest you in the Interlock Mini Skirt, Cotton Spandex Jersey High-waist Skirt, or Cotton Spandex Jersey Skort.

I have this jersey skirt from Old Navy (not exactly great quality, I know, but I needed a cheap, casual, comfy skirt) and wear it a lot. Super comfortable and versatile.

Have to agree on the Old Navy skirt erst mentioned. I have it, it's probably perfect for your needs.

American Apparel has a bunch like this:
interlock mini
interlock pencil
pockets

My favorite jersey brands are bobi (which doesn't seem to have any good skirts now)
Three Dots:
mini
foldover
and LA Made:
mini skirt

Here's a few options from a few different places.

Here's a topshop possibility at Nordstroms. May be fuller than you want, but worth a look.

I have a similar skirt from Old Navy and it has really held up well/is super-comfy. Jersey skirts can be tough because depending on fabric composition, they sometimes pill or wear funny, but the Old Navy ones are pretty solid.

Macys has the skirt you want.

I will recommend that you'll have MUCH better luck with fit and with suitability if you stop shopping in Juniors and start shopping in Misses.

No judgement, but I'm finding that Juniors is for folks pretty much through sophomore year in college, at the latest.

Misses has pretty things and they don't have Hello Kitty faces on them.

There are lots of jersey skirts on Etsy. Including some tights with skirt attached. Some cute vintage ones too.

How about this one from Bella?

I recently bought this Icebreaker Villa Skirt and I'm very happy with it. Very small embroidered black-on-black logo. It's maybe too long, though. However: it has one of those wide fold-over waistbands, so you can kind of put it where you want. I'm not particularly tall but when I wear it the hem hits higher than it does on the model in the photo.

Seconding the skirt from Old Navy. I have a couple of them, and absolutely love them.

I have the Patagonia Vitaliti skirt, and aside from the length, it might be perfect for you. I wear it with leggings all the time. A bit more substantial than the Icebreaker Villa skirt, and nice details. Higher quality than the Old Navy options and worth every penny.

Chiming in to say that I bought one of those Hanes skirts mentioned above after someone suggested it, and the skirt is absolutely perfect! I can't rave about it enough. I bought a bunch of other things as well, and it is all making me way more happy than some simple items of clothing have a right to. So glad to have rediscovered their stuff. But that skirt: perfection!
