Ukraine social issues for documentary

I am teaching a documentary class in Kiev at the end of the month. Students will work together to create several projects around a single issue. I am looking for topics of a social nature for them to explore. Last year they focused on the issue of cigarette smuggling. Any suggestions for further exploration would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

Tuberculosis! It's specifically considered a social disease in Ukraine, and hugely common among injecting drug users, people with HIV/AIDS, and prisoners. So, you know, not the most protected in society. But their under- and mistreatment means that Ukraine has a very high rate of TB and of drug-resistant TB.

Let me know if I can help you out with any resources. I have some in-country contacts and ideas.
