Nice restaurants in or around Lafayette, CO

What are nice places to go out for dinner in or around Lafayette, Colorado? (Going as far as Boulder would be fine, too, if you have recommendations.) Looking to spend about $100 for a couple, maybe more if it is worth the added expense. No real limitations, diet-wise, but they like vegetarian or fish with good beer.
Best answer: Seconding The Kitchen as a great place for a great meal.

Best answer: Tons of options on Pearl St in Boulder. I think the Kitchen is OK, but if you like Sushi I would check out the Sushi bar "Amu".

Best answer: The Empire in Louisville. Everything there is good, but I especially recommend the crispy calamari salad.

I live in Lafayette and it really doesn't have $100/plate restaurants. 95 Bistro and Sushi is about as pricey as it gets and you'll have to work pretty hard to spend $100 per person. Go to Boulder.

Response by poster: Sorry, I wasn't clear. I'm looking to spend about $100 for a couple of people, not $100/plate.

Boulder is really where the upscale dining is in the area. There are so many choices! We just had an amazing dinner at The Kitchen. But, there are many lovely places on Pearl St and the surrounding area. We don't do much upscale dining so I hope others have more suggestions.
