It's the kind of J-pop you could really sumo wrestle to.

Which Japanese band / song is used in this video? They're very New Order'y, and I know the missus would like them a lot. Extra credit: Is there a pattern / design / instructions out there for making and playing with paper doll sumo wrestlers like this? Because, frankly, this has Rock'em Sock'em Robots beat all to hell.

Shazam says it is, in fact, Bernie and New Order themselves.

Best answer: I dig it

Response by poster: It is highly diggable in Japanese, isn't it?! Actually quite surprised that their latest music is, well.. kinda good. Listening to the English version now. Lyricwise, I think I prefer the Japanese... sounds less trite.

Though I am kind of sad that there isn't a Japanese New Order clone out there to listen to...

For paper sumo nothing beats this scene from Takeshi Kitano's excellent gangster meditation Sonatine.

Best answer: You could make those sumo wrestlers really easily. You'd need a Sumo wrestler vector where the left and right halves are the same shape so you can fold the wrestlers in half. You;d need a box top for the platform, and a circle of paper for the sumo mat.

Best answer: PS: You need to print the sumo wrestlers on heavier paper like 80lb stock but Kinkos can do this for you no problem if you don't have any. I would also be inclined to laminate the sumo circle to the box top with clear contact paper but I am fussy like that.

Response by poster: I did Google Translate then a bit of extra searching which led to these cool results, linking to several patterns and the like.

It also led me to Nice Paper Toys, which is all kinds of awesome.
