No uTorrent

What has happened to uTorrent? Now all I have is an ad for uTorrent Plus that I cannot close.

A few minutes ago, I got a pop-up on uTorrent that said one of my torrents might be infected with a virus. When I clicked on "More information", it replaced my entire uTorrent interface with an ad for uTorrent Plus. There appears to be no way to x out of the ad. I closed and reopened uTorrent several times, and have only this ad -- I cannot see any of my torrents, I cannot use uTorrent at all, apparently, without paying for an "upgrade" to uTorrent Plus.

I looked around online and don't see any info about this problem. Do I just have to get another torrent client or what? Can you help?

I would imagine the popup was not created by uTorrent at all, but was some sort of malicious website or something, and by clicking on it, you infected yourself with a virus that tries to get you to buy uTorrent plus. I would try cleaning that up and uninstalling/reinstalling uTorrent.
