My beloved stylist has left the city. I am looking for recommendations for a Portland, OR stylist who can cut my thick, coarse, wavy, shoulder-length hair.
People who often work with 'difficult' hair say that my hair is on the easy side, but most hair stylists will panic at my hair, and I end up feeling guilty for throwing my problem hair their way (and me throwing in oodles of tip money to smooth things over).
I would prefer someone who takes their time cutting and doing a brief consult at the beginning, and doesn’t thin with a razor. I am female.

A whole bunch of my PDX friends are completely devoted to Kahala at Koipod. He's basically an elevated, supreme adept of hair.

Jen LaMastra, though I'm not sure if she's taking new clients.

I won't let anyone but her touch my hair, which has a similar texture to yours, according to your description. And I don't even live in Portland anymore.
