I can't find my cable jack. Help?

So I just moved into a new apartment, and I can't find the cable jack in order to hook up my modem. Any ideas?

I know the previous occupant had cable internet so it's got to be near somewhere. I asked someone in the same apartment building where his jacks are, but the locations of his jacks are not found in the corresponding locations in my unit.

This is a stupid problem. Please help!

It may not be a jack. It could just be a piece of coax sticking through the floor somewhere.

Sometimes the installation is just a hole (usually along the baseboard) that the wire can run through, instead of a dedicated jack. The previous tenant may have pulled out that cable, so you'll need to re-run it from the box thingy (what's that called...?) to your unit, or probably, the cable company will.

Check the closet(s).

Did you order service? If you ordered service, wouldn't they send out a tech to install it?

Mine comes down into the utility closet. No jack on the wall. So yeah, start snooping around in closets near the living room.
