How do I connect to a network identified by smb://sub.domain.tld/share$ from XP Pro? It works fine in OS X (of course) using "Go->Connect to Server", but on Windows neither IE nor Firefox nor My Network Places seems to understand this kind of URL. What do I need?

Best answer: Just use \\sub.domiain.tld\share$.oco

SMB is the native protocol for Windows networks.

Leave off the ".oco" at the end--I don't know where that came from...

Response by poster: Thanks curtm! I guess it was too simple to Google. ("Samba in xp" was getting me nowhere.)

For future googling, Samba is just a reimplementation of the SMB protocol, windows doesn't use Samba.
