Tree Identification Filter - What is this tree from the streets of San Francisco?

I think this is the same type of tree.

Saw a lot of these while walking around San Francisco, but can't seem to find a name for them anywhere. Does the tree grow like this naturally or is it due to some sort of topiary-landscaping-magic?

Thanks!

It looks like a type of juniper or cypress. They are probably pruned but not carefully sculpted or anything. They are cool trees and one of the things I missed most when I lived back east.

I am guessing Italian Cypress.

Best answer: It's a juniper, specifically a subspecies of juniperus chinensis called "Hollywood juniper". They just grow like that.

Sorry, cultivar, not subspecies.
