Where should I be looking for 3+ bedroom, single-family homes (or townhouses) for rent in the DMV?

We're likely moving to the DC area soon, and I'm currently hunting around for prospective areas where me and my family can find a single-family home (or townhouse) to rent.

Some details:

* I'll be working in the Dupont area, so preferably something on the red line to make commutes easier
* Something within a 20 minute walk to a red line station
* Something with a yard as we have a pretty big dog
* Budget is ~$3,000/month

So far places that have been recommended are Silver Spring and Takoma.

Where else should we be looking?

Brookland would fit the bill as well.

Want to sublet our 3 bedroom CapitolHill house? 8 min to Eastern Market (get off at Farragut West?) Or quick bike or bus to Union Station.

Memail me.

WRT to dog - we have a yard and Lincoln Park, which is unofficially off leash, is 2 blocks. We had a dog til last year, paid a pet deposit for him.

Definitely Capitol Hill, though you won't get much of a yard. If k8t's place doesn't work out, try Yarmouth Management. They seem to manage or find renters for hundreds of places on the hill, including our 3ish bedroom house.

The Hill is my favorite neighborhood too. Check around Stanton Park.
