I am camping out at the lip of a stage to see Pulp tomorrow night and I want to not leave even once to pee. Are there tips about controlling this?

I am of course not going to have any drinks at the show, but Im wondering what some good advice might be about how early to stop drinking liquids to keep from having to give up my prime spot.

Is there an Immodium for urine?

This sounds silly I know but this is important to me, dammit!

How long will you be holding it?

Response by poster: From 6 to 11 I think is a good estimate

Eat lots of salty snacks or food before you go. I know this might also make you thirsty, but it will also desiccate you a little bit, too.

I think if you are conscientious about not drinking a particularly lot that afternoon or during, you'll be fine. I used to be a serial frequent pee'er and lately on road trips, I just don't have a beverage right before or during, and I can drive to Huntsville (6 hrs) with no problem at all. Don't get thirsty, don't have to pee. So in my opinion you likely won't have to do anything else special besides that.

I regularly spend that much time on boats without peeing. I wouldn't drink much after about 5:30, in your scenario, and I'd assume you'll be fine. (unless it's hot and sweaty - then I'd also get a bottle of water and drink it slowly, midway. I think a larger worry is that you'll over dehydrate and feel lousy.)

Yeah just don't drink much the day of the show (especially avoid cafffeine and alcohol) and make sure you pee as close to the show as you can. Then don't drink at all during the show. You should be OK. If you are worried about dryin out, bring a bottle of water or gatorade or something to your spot and sip on it some should you begin to feel really crappy, but unless it's really hot you should be fine.

Best answer: From way back when, my routine was to not drink or eat anything for at least 3 hours before the last time I could "go", and I would keep a few rolls of SweetTarts and/or Sprees to curb my hunger or thirst during the wait and during the show. I used the STs or Sprees very carefully and slowly, one at a time, and usually had lots left at the end.

One of the most important things you can do: don't think about peeing. Cause once you start thinking about it...

Best answer: I buy Uristat over the counter. It's a temporary pain reliever for bladder infections, so you can get through a day or two while waiting to see a doctor. When I need to not pee for about 3 hours, I always take some. I take it a half hour before I no longer have access to a bathroom to give it time to kick in. Buy some tonight and take it to see what kind of 'no pee' time range you can get out of it.

Warning: When you do pee, it will be crazy orange!

Wear compression stockings/flight socks at home before you go. If you can, rest at home with your feet up high, or take a walk. Remove the stockings just after your last pee opportunity.

This will all drive fluid from your lower extremities before the long wait for Pulp.

Just be careful not to get dehydrated... You don't want to pass out when the crowd gets going. My sister used to frequently do what you're looking to do, and she's passed out once and had to be pulled out of the crowd (on the upside, from her perspective, the medics took her backstage and she met one of the performers. ymmv)

Depending on your sex and ease of embarrassment there are devices women can use to pee standing up, you can then do the old pee in a bottle thing that blokes do. Of course that would be a worse case scenario and they do take a little practice to use. Also take an Imodium anyway nothing worse than nerves/excitement kicking in and needing to poop that was always my problem in those sorts of situations anyway.
