Recommended travel blogs

Looking for exceptional travel blogs that aren't just about travel--rather, blogs that have a specific focus, like mass transportation, green infrastructure, cycling etc., either within a country or across countries.

I remember a while back about someone telling me about this grad student who took time off to travel for the purpose of experiencing and studying public transportation systems (particularly bus systems) in different cities around the world. I was always fascinated by the thought of it and would have loved to read about that person's travels had he kept a blog about it (I don't think he did nor do I know the person).

It's pretty easy to find travel blogs that just talk about traveling and backpacking and the experience of travel. That's not what I want. What I'm looking for are well-written, well put together travel blogs that focus on a particular topic on top of the travel experience. My main interests are in transportation and green infrastructure but I'm open to other recommendations too.

For instance: I know about sites that group a lot of blogs together like crazyguyonabike, which is great, but I'm looking more for things like cyclingsilk.com but in more depth.

Thanks!

Anirvan Chatterjee, the guy who started bookfinder.com, did a blog about his year of travelling around the world without flying.

David Byne's journal is a great read, and would I think be relevant to your interests. http://journal.davidbyrne.com/

A lot of focus on urban biking while on tour, but a lot more on culture, art, music, and life. Cool guy.

You may like my friend's blog Colectiveishon - he is catching each of the 141 buses in Buenos Aires and writing about the experience.
