Where to go techno dancing in DC this weekend?

A friend and I are going to be in Washington, D.C. for the weekend. Any suggestions for a good place to go dancing? Techno music, mid 20s to mid 30s crowd, not too pretentious?

Best answer: Assuming you don't mean techno proper, U street music hall.

U Street Music Hall is one of the most influential nightclubs in the country right now, but if you're looking for techno proper (as phrontist) said, you're out of luck this weekend. It's actually the venue's two year anniversary weekend, so the lineup is very strong. Tomorrow night is Maceo Plex, which is a dark tech house sound. Friday night two very well known house DJs, Derrick Carter and Alan Braxe, are spinning. Saturday night is the venue owner's long running and very fun party Bliss.

The venue itself is definitely unpretentious. Also, given the lineup and the occasion, get there on the early side to avoid a line or sellout.
