Where can I find free breast cancer screening in NJ?

When I have health insurance I'm healthy. But as soon as I lose it, I get weird pains and injuries.

To point, for the last couple days, my left breast had a dull ache. This morning I woke to a sharp pinching pain around my nipple.

Where in Mommoth County, NJ can a woman get a free mammogram?

If you're over 40, you might be in luck. This is a program at Monmouth Medical Center.

You have some pretty specific symptoms that require a workup that may include, but is certainly not limited to a mammogram and clinical breast exam. Here are some clinics in Monmouth County that cater to the uninsured (source):
  • Our Lady of Providence Clinic: 1228 5th Avenue, Neptune NJ (Tues/Thurs evenings) 732-776-7164
  • Parker Family Health Center: 211 Shrewsbury Ave, Red Bank NJ (call for intake appointment) 732-212-0777
  • Paul M. McGuire Family Health Center: 25 Broad Street, Boro Plaza, Freehold NJ (Tues/Thurs, 6-9PM) 732-409-0133

VNA of Central Jersey is your county's Education and Early Detection Screening Program location. They offer free cancer screenings as long as you meet the income guidelines. Call 1-800-328-3838 for a referral.
