Can I run an external dvi monitor with the lid closed on a new Powerbook 12"?

There are mixed reports, but I'd be cautious about running it with the LCD over the keyboard. The heat that's rising off the keyboard is going to be absorbed by the LCD.

yeah there's alot of people that will tell you it's a heat issue. apparently older powerbooks had vents that would be blocked when closed, but they would not wake when closed.

new powerbooks vent from behind, and the side, and if you search for "lid closed" in mac help, the above mentioned instructions are in there.

so according to apple it should be fine. i really think the supposed heat/vent problems are relics of the old pbooks.

I use my 12" Aluminum Powerbook with the lid closed literally every day. I'm doing it at this very moment. Never had a problem.
