THRIVE and AVAIL , AVAIL and THRIVE

Has anyone tried using both the AT&T LG Thrive and the AT&T ZTE Avail, and can you recommend one over the other?

The Thrive was released last summer, and the Avail came out in December 2011. I have heard that the screen on the Avail is bigger, but also that it feels more "cheap" and less like a reliable solid phone that would survive a drop or a fall. I imagine that by some sort of basic technological evolution, the processor on the Avail will be faster. Anything else? Has anyone tried both?

Are you really limited to those two?

There are lots of better phones: iPhones 4/4s, Samsung Galaxy SII, HTC Titan II (Windows Phone)...

Have not tried both- just the Avail. My daughter has it and I'm impressed. For $25 per month (250 min/unlimited text) its great. I added $5 per month data and she's set. I have an iPhone as well. While it's nicer, for me, not worth the added cost.

Response by poster: I suppose I should go into an AT&T store, and have a look at an Avail, if I am so bloody interested in buying one.
