Best uses for copious melted Andes mints.
I left a container filled with Andes Chocolate Mints (about 55 oz) on top of the oven by accident. When struck by a baked potato craving, I inadvertently melted most of them. The packaging appeared to be failing, so they goo has been dumped into a glass bowl and stashed in the fridge. They'll keep in there for a while, but I would like to eliminate the embarrassment of seeing them every time I open the fridge. Right now the plans are cookies, sweet bread, cake, hot chocolate. Are there any awesome uses of mass chocolate mint chip that I should consider?

The chocolate itself isn't terribly good quality. So I would add some of the good stuff, some heavy cream and sugar to make minty chocolate ganache. Let it cool, whip it and put it over a chocolate cake and you have yourself one more reason to go to the gym after New Year's.

Mix the bits into brownie batter, with a sprinkling across the top. And/or make chocolate-dipped pretzels rolled/pressed into finely chopped bits.

Make brownies, then pour the Andes mixture on top. It will harden to an amazing crust. My family does this on purpose!

You can definitely make hot chocolate with it, as I discovered when I steamed chopped up Andes and milk together when bored one day as a barista. Also, now that it's chilled, you could chop the chocolate up and use it like chocolate chips in cookies or whatever.

Response by poster: We ended up making lots of hot chocolate and then the mint fudge. Next on the list was the brownies with a crust, but we'd used them all up by then. Thanks, folks.
