Halp! Have Vespa, need name.
My husband and I have recently become Vespa owners and I'm seriously in love with my new mode of transportation. It's a 150 ie, in a color called Bronze/Espresso. This is the same model. Vespas are traditionally considered female and are named accordingly. Lots of the names are based on the color of the scooter, but not all. Yall are so great at this, can you help me?

If it helps narrow it down, the naming rule I was taught (for any vehicle) is that it must start with the first letter on the licence plate.

Seconding Vera! Or possibly Layla, because it makes me think of "cafe au lait", which is what the colors make me think of.

What if it only dresses like a girl? Because I think its name is Eddie.

Response by poster: My license plate starts with the number 9 (and Z is the first letter) so I don't think that will work. I wanted Odetta, but it's already taken by a member of our scooter club. We're on the Mods side of Mods vs Rockers. I live in Memphis, so anything topical to my location would be good, too.

My car is named Precious, like "preciousssssssssss" from Lord of the Rings, so that's my recommendation.

Vespa are hornets, (Greenie might have been inevitable with the right color), some of which have queens, and since you live in Memphis, maybe an Egyptian Queen reference would be appropriate, such as:
Nefertiti ('the beautiful woman comes'), particularly good since the scooter was named for the wasp-like sound, I read once.
Hatshepsut
Isis (also the name of the Goddess, of course)

Nove is "nine" in Italian and apparently also sometimes a girl's name.

Well, if she behaves anything like my late, lamented Honda Elite 250: Pandora, because you never know what you'll find when you open her up.

Confuse scooter geeks and call it Stella. Bonus points if you go find a Stella badge for it.

Response by poster: Thanks to all, in spite of the call-out on the grey. I really liked "Ida B" because it's so fun to say, but didn't want to be insensitive. So Gina it will be! I picked it because it's easy to say and fits the scooter's personality as I see it. You guys are so great at this.
