Tattoo ideas pleeeze!

I feel the need for new ink. I'm thinking about a little something to represent my grandchild and possible future grandchildren. Knocking around the idea of a small star or heart and then adding others when and if more grandchildren arrive. While interesting looking I even thought of the names in Elvish, even though, sorry, I'm not a bit LOTR fan. Any fun ideas and flash patterns are welcome!

My sister got one representing our father where he was a crescent moon and his 4 kids were small shooting stars. Sort of cartoony-looking & sweet.

One of my relatives has a bunch of balloons to represent her nieces & nephews. It's a cool idea, if a little cutesy.

If you do stars, maybe you could choose a chunk of the night sky and add to it as you go? Start with the north star and add little dipper and (big dipper, depending on the grandkid numbers!) stars as you go?

This a somewhat new grandkid? Do you have a handprint or footprint or something that could be a pretty simple transfer?

How big of a space and where is it going to be? I like the idea of a night sky and stars- but depending on how many grandkids might be in your future (heck, my grandmother has more than twenty- you never know) we could be talking quite a large space.

My mother has small flowers on her shoulder in a pretty little shape to represent us, with space below to fill out for future decendents if needed.

Best answer: Maybe you should wait a couple of years and let the kid choose (maybe not unfettered choice) a small image? That could be sweet. Or else choose something base on his/her emergent character.

One of my ink-addicted friends was talking about getting a tree branch and adding leaves or flowers for her family members.

If you don't know, then wait. You'll know a idea is right after you toss it out and it returns.

I was going to say something like EvaDestruction's idea - maybe a little "family tree" and then add a branch for each new grandchild.

Awww :)
