What's this fingers-hands-counting type game

Some folks recently showed me (too briefly for me to catch everything) a playground-type game for two players who are each holding out a certain number of fingers on each hand. A player's move is either to swap the numbers showing on his own two hands, or to hit the other player's hand with his own and thereby add to the count on that hand. The rest I'm fuzzy on. Is this familiar? What's it called and where can I find a description of it?

My nephew is all about chopsticks right now so that's what it sounds like to me.
