Find My Iphone

Can I use Find My iPhone with Macintosh 10.6? Friends and husband tell me to set it up, but can't find it on my Mac. Found the App and put that on the phone, but shouldn't there be an App on my Macintosh to find the phone?

You can use the web: https://me.com/find/

Head to iCloud.com - it'll have a Find my iPhone option there, if you've set it up for your phone, which has to be running iOS 5.0. The phone app doesn't make your phone findable; it lets you find other iOS devices you own (eg, use your iPhone to find your Mac, or your iPad.)

On the iPhone go to Settings-->Mail Contacts Calendars. If you have a MobileMe account set up, choose that and turn on Find My iPhone. If you don't, then create a MobileMe account using your existing AppleID (usually it's your e-mail address). This is free. You'll receive a verification e-mail and then you can turn on the Find My iPhone feature.
