points on license for a bike ticket

What should I do, if a bike ticket is filed incorrectly?

I was told by the officer that I won't get points on my license and I just have to pay the fine. I looked online on the status of my ticket and it says that I will get 3 points on my license. I have emailed transalt to ask for advice. They used the word "drove" instead of "ride" which makes me think that they thought I was driving a car and also to fine me as if I was driving a car. What can I do to correct this? Do I go to their office and set an appointment? I am guilty but the punishment is incorrect. If you were in a similar position would you just pay the ticket and get the points?

You can go to court on this. If it's inaccurate, fight it. It should say on the back of your ticket how to fight the ticket.

For the PPA in Philly, you can schedule a court date on the website.

Why do you think the punishment is incorrect? It sounds like the cop was wrong.

Best answer: If the ticket is written incorrectly a traffic attorney can likely get it dropped. You might be able to do it yourself too - depends on how much time you want to put into the research.

Response by poster: do you know of a good traffic attorney that I can trust? should I try it on my own to see?

I know a good traffic attorney in VA. That probably does not help you though.
