What does medical coding have to do with Sesame Street?

Why are medical industry-seeming websites publishing all these unrelated infographics?

Lately I've noticed a lot of infographics floating around the internet and a lot of them seem to be published by Medicalbillingandcoding.org, including that one about sitting down too much that got a lot of internet attention a few months ago. Today I noticed another infographic hosted by another site, medicalinsurance.org, that also seems to have infographics not really related to healthcare.

What gives? Is this some new viral marketing trend that for some reason only shows up in the healthcare industry?

Best answer: Infographics are part and parcel of web marketing now. This piece from SEOMoz explains it.
