help me hack this wristband (not literally)

i got a wristband for this rock festival this weekend. i've never seen this kind of bracelet before. it's a one time woven wrist bracelet with a metal buckle that looks crimped. i want to get it off right now because it's cramping my wrists (as well as my style) but i don't want to cut it off. help?

here's a description / picture of the kind of wristband (it's not the orange one). The festival people didn't crimp the metal part on to lock the wristband. they slide band through.

i have no idea how it latches on. i assume it's similar to plastic zip ties but i'm afraid of sticking something sharp inside the metal crimp when i am not sure how it works. the metal crimp is relatively thick so i dont think i can just pry it apart easily. i guess i can if i tried harde enough, but i would like to see if i can reverse engineer it.

I've had a similar wristband when I went to Wave Gotik Treffen. If the wristband is so tight that it's uncomfortable, see if you can go to an info booth and get it re-applied. Otherwise, you could probably just soak it (and your wrist) in water to help stretch it out.

Only other thing I can think of is to get a friend and a set of needle-nosed pliers to try to pry the band open, adjust the fabric, and then close it around again.

go to an info booth, they'll (most likely) sort you out. barring that, spinifex23's pliers solution works, but may damage that buckle/gasket thing. best of luck!

Other than an info booth, you can also try an entry gate. Basically, this is a common problem, especially as some people's joints tend to swell a bit in hot weather. The festival will have planned for replacing people's wristbands as needed.
