Beyond Madam C. J. Walker

What is a good source of information about African American millionaires in the nineteenth century? Especially interested in cases where the successful person used a front to manage the investing and banking end of things. (I've tried library card catalogs, but am getting nowhere.)

This is probably because the first African American millionaire, Madam CJ Walker, became a millionaire in the early 20th century, so there weren't any 19th century Black American millionaires.

(Also, just checking to clarify with you that the 1800s = the 19th century and the 1900s = the 20th century. I can provide more info on 20th century black millionaires, if that's what you're looking for.)
