Advice please on Ipod touch repair

My Ipod touch took a drink and I fear I did everything wrong to bring it back to life. I am looking at mail in repair. Any recent experiences/reviews or recommendations ? Going with the sage advice of the hive on this one.

Someone is going to have to open it up and dry out any remaining liquid. Depending on the type of liquid that it got splashed with this may or may not prove successful. It's probably going to cost you at least 100 dollars in labor alone and parts could easily double that. Since a new or used ipod will cost you that much your nest bet is to toss it and get another one.

I recently laundered my ipod nano and put it in rice for three or four days. That didn't fix it, but over time (three weeks?) the liquid did just dry up and now it works fine again. Considering Poet_Lariat's comment about the cost of fixing vs. just buying a new one, I'd wait at least three weeks before making a move either way, if you can wait that long.

Response by poster: This was a 64gb Ipod touch. $100 to fix would not be too bad

I've used a small company called Rapid Repair in the past with good success. They do repairs by mail, in case you're looking for someone to help you.
