Such thing as a SWYPE app for iphone?

Is there an app so you can have a Swype function on the iphone 4?
Apple's platform doesn't let you replace basic features of the phone like the contacts list, keyboard, or phone dialer. So while I think there is a swype app (or something like it) for the iPhone, it can't replace the existing keyboard in other apps so it's not particularly useful.
Apple may choose to integrate it (they've grabbed other UI bits like Cover Flow from 3rd party developers in the past), but I doubt it in this case. It's already a major feature of another platform and they'll look like followers to add it in now. Plus, I think it can be a bit confusing to use and Apple really values simplicity. Don't hold your breath, unfortunately.

It's not even possible on a jailbroken one. Sorry. I'd love to try it out myself.

Shapewriter is an Swype-style typing app for the iphone. It does not replace the native keyboard but you can type (or swipe) in Shapewriter, and then copy/paste into email, text, etc.
