Alice's Dress Changed Colour

I remember seeing on British TV some time in the 90s/00s, a production of Alice in Wonderland where Alice's dress subtly changed hue in between (every?) scene(s), from blue, through yellows and violets. (It may not have been a specifically British, or a made-for-TV production, either.)

Unfortunately, that's all I remember about this particular production and nothing else comes to mind, no matter how hard I try to remember (or google) up facts. Can anyone definitely tell me which particular production it is I'm thinking of?

Best answer: It looks like this adaptation from 1998 with Kate Beckinsale is a good bet. The trailer shows her in several dresses of varying hues.

This 1949 version has Alice in a blue and yellow dress which sometimes looks like pale violet and white because of the colour saturation. You can watch the whole thing you YouTube.

The Kate Beckinsale version has her in a violetish/blueish dress throughout until the final party scene when she is changed into a pink dress. You can also watch it on Youtube.

Are you sure you can't remember anything more? Was it a contemporary production or could it have been made in the 80s or earlier? Was it a musical version?

Response by poster: Thanks HonoriaGlossop - without watching the whole thing, that looks like it might well been the adaptation I recall. The timeframe's right, the trailer definitely shows the dress changing colour in the subtle way I remember and various discussions on the 'Net talk about the clothes and hair changing scene by scene.

My only caveat would be that I'm pretty sure I know of Kate Beckinsale as an actress in the late 90s so I would have hoped she would have stuck in my mind, but as I honestly can't remember any other details about it, I'll have to accept I just plain forgot!
