It's time for me to get new glasses but also have some surrounding questions about my vision. Need someone with a little more expertise than your average Lenscrafter folk, but this isn't a medical issue so I don't need an ophthalmologist.

I've been happy with Parrelli Optical in Cambridge -- right in Porter Square. Everyone I've seen there has gone out of their way to explain what's wrong with my vision and answer my questions.

Dr. Villazon did my Lasik back in '99 and he's an excellent optometrist. Probably a decade better now than he used to be.
I haven't had to see an optometrist since but I may pay him a visit to maybe upgrade or something.

I've been using Harvard Square Eye Care for checkups, frames, and lenses (normal and specialty) and they've done a great job for me. They'd never seen anything like my Rudy Project FR790000 lens inserts before, but they had lenses made for them all the same with no issues at all.

Dr. David Luria at Eye Q Optical in Harvard Square always did a thorough job with his examinations. He also enjoys adopting new and interesting measurement technologies to get more details about your eyes so I'd trust him if I had some other vision questions (my vision problems are pretty simple to correct, so it's never come to that).

Seconding Harvard Square Eye Care. I've always had great experiences with them.

I really like the folks at Custom Eyes in Central. The eye doctor is young, but very competent, and Kevork, the owner and main guy at the desk is kind and very helpful.
