Obvious Mushroom Joke

Help! I'm looking for a source where I can buy about 30 Ganoderma applanatum fungi, also known as shelf fungus, bracket mushrooms, and artist conks. The idea is to use them for an art workshop, so they need to be blank. I'm really striking out on Google. Any ideas?

Have you tried getting in touch with the Maine Mycological Association? Also, the site you linked to is run by a fellow by the name of David Spahr, and he gives his e-mail address, so maybe he could help you out.

Response by poster: Thanks, FoB. I've done a fair amount of that kind of emailing with crossed fingers, and hope something pans out!

This Etsy seller paints on conks and seems to have access to a good supply. Contact her, I bet she'd sell you some blank ones.

How quickly do you need them? They're thick as thieves in the woods around here, but the woods are soaked in Spring thaws right now, and I'm not too keen on freezing my ankles for it this week.

Also, what size?

Response by poster: I don't need them in hand until early June, but I was hoping to order some now to practice on. IAmBroom, if you can really get them, I would be thrilled beyond belief. MeMail me if you like - we planned to pay for them so we could certainly compensate! What fun...
