Where's a good place to get measured in Manhattan? (for a wedding)

The wedding is in the Midwest. I'm a groomsman. The couple is using a Savvi Formalwear, but it appears the nearest ones to me are in Jersey. (I'm in Manhattan.) But it appears I can go somewhere else and they'll measure me as a courtesy, right? Does anyone have any recommendations for a good place I can go?

Thanks for hoping me.

Best answer: Is there Nordstrom in Manhattan? I've done this at Nordstrom in the mid-Atlantic twice for other people's weddings. If you have no Nordstrom, try another upscale department store like Bergdorf Goodman (if they still exist) or Barney's. Call first.

Best answer: All tuxedo rental shops will also measure you free of charge.

Best answer: Go on Yelp and find your nearest tailor. It would be polite of you to throw them a tip for the favor of measuring you, if you otherwise never need to have anything tailored.

Best answer: I did this a few years back. Call the Savvi Formalwear place that is renting you the tux or check their website and get a list of exactly the measurements they will need (I'm pretty sure I recall there being a form actually, with detailed how to ). Once you have that list, basically any tailor can measure you - I went to a nearby department store I shop at very irregularly (i.e., the tailer did not know me) and asked him to measure me, he did, and I gave him $20 as a tip. I'm sure less of a tip would be fine, but hell, it is Manhattan I suppose.

Everything worked out fine.

Best answer: If you're in midtown frequently, I'd go to Zeller Tuxedos at 459 Lexington Avenue, 3rd Floor, just north of and across the street from Grand Central Terminal. It's centrally located and they rent formalwear and out of town places do measurements for them, so it should be no problem for them to do measurements for out of town places.

On the other hand if you have a tailor (not just a drycleaner that shortens pants) or a menswear place that knows you (e.g. Mens Wearhouse, Jos. A Bank) where they know you, you could easily go there too.
