How to find Broadway musicals on DVD?

Is it possible to get DVD copies of these Broadway shows in Los Angeles?

I'm trying to get my hands on DVD footage of two musicals, Miss Saigon and Big River, as performed by any company (on Broadway or not). Neither show was released on DVD, but is it possible to get a taped performance somewhere?

Previous similar questions have mentioned the Lincoln Center Performing Arts Library in New York, but I'm in Los Angeles. Is there somewhere I could find these shows in LA or online?

Two places to check are the UCLA Film & Television Archive and the Paley Center for Media. If they don't have them, they should be able to tell you where to find them.

Unless the law has changed significantly - probably not. The performers in those recordings are not compensated for the duplication and/or distribution of them. They're paid only for a normal performance. They're recorded for archival purposes and unless I'm mistaken the one resulting tape is at Lincoln Center.

(OT: Have they even been transferred to DVD at Lincoln Center? I haven't been there in a long time, but I can't say it struck me as the kind of place where "keeping up with technology" was much of a priority...)

New York Public Library has Big River on VHS, according to World Cat., so maybe you could arrange an inter-library loan?
